The pre-requisite for this course is as follows:

Minimum age 16 years at the start of the course

Be able to swim 50 metres in 60 seconds or less

Be able to swim 100 metres on front and back
-
Be able to submerge to the deepest part of the pool (2.3 metres)
-
Be able to comfortably tread water in the deepest part of the pool
-
Be able to climb out of the pool, unaided, without the use of the steps
-
(without wearing goggles)
