Explores and understands spoken and written text within the English language and how they are affected by audience and context. |
Explores the development of language and what has influenced language change in recent centuries and study how humans learn language by studying theorists and significant language experiments. | |

2. Creating Texts |
4. Investigating Language | |
|
Allows you to develop personal writing through the creation of texts that either entertain, persuade, inform or instruct. |
Coursework – your chance to investigate language by collecting language data, analyse it and discuss your conclusions about what you have found. | |

How you will be assessed:1. External exam 1hr 30 min – 60% of AS grade, 30% of total A-level | ||

2. Coursework – 40% AS, 20% total A level
3. External exam 2 hours – 30% of total A level
4. Coursework – 20% of total A level | ||

Qualifications needed for success at this course: | ||

5 GCSE passes as grade C or above including grade C in both English Language and English Literature. | ||
