Students win first place in the annual Excellence in Enterprise Awards

Students from Burleigh Community College won first place in the annual Excellence in Enterprise Awards which are organised by Leicestershire Education Business Company.
Students were awarded first place in the Army Team held at St. Georges Barracks, Near Oakham. Students had to tackle a series of agility and initiative tests set by the Army. The team included Conor Barker, Conor Morley, Samantha Mitchell, Dina Al-Samawi, Beth Tobin, and Alexander Fogg.
Burleigh also gain second place in Building for the Future Award, students had to undertake a number of construction-based challenges set out by Westleigh Developments. The team included Luke Needham, Nathan Green, Chris Bulmer, Luke Skillen, Jack Lackin, and Sam Finnegan.
Emma Hardman, the College's Personal Development Curriculum Team Leader said:" We are proud of the achievements and progress made by these students who are true ambassadors for their enterprise skills and are role models to their peers."
The Awards were a huge success, with students gaining in enterprising skills such as problem solving, initiative and most importantly team work.
