Students at Burleigh Community College are celebrating the College’s best ever GCSE results. 71% of students in Year 11 achieved 5 or more higher grades (A*-C) compared with last year’s 60%. The proportion of students attaining 5 or more higher passes including English and Mathematics reached 50% from last year’s 44%.
School Principal Christine Horsfall said: ”Students and their teachers have worked extremely hard to achieve the best results the college has ever had and thoroughly deserve this success. The rate of progress students have made to reach these levels is in line with the highest 25% of schools nationally. We wish all of our Year 11’s well as they move into the next stage of their education or training”.
