Inclusive Sports Day on October 15th

As part of the countdown of the 1000 days to the start of the 2012 London and Paralympic Games, students at Burleigh Community College have planned an Inclusive Sports Day on October 15th for 280 students from their feeder high schools. Members of the college’s student leadership academy which consists of Sports Leaders, School Council and qualified Coaches are to lead 14 teams through a morning of 7 sporting activities which include disability sports of Boccia, Seated Volleyball and Kurling.
Alastair O'Connor, Director of Specialism at Burleigh said "The event has been organised through the student body and will reward students who demonstrate the Olympic Values of Friendship, Courage, Determination, Excellence, Equality, Respect and Inspiration."
