Information on Loughborough
The Town Of Loughborough
Loughborough is a pleasant market town in the heart of England, standing above the Soar Valley with a backdrop of the beautiful hills of the Charnwood Forest. Bradgate Park (home of Lady Jane Grey), Beacon Hill and Swithland and Blackbrook reservoirs are all in the vicinity of the town and slightly further afield lies some of the most attractive countryside in Leicestershire. The town is well served by major road and rail routes, Nottingham East Midlands Airport is only a few miles away and Leicester, Derby and Nottingham are all within easy reach.
Loughborough is exceptionally well served by Further and Higher Education facilities and Burleigh Community College takes full advantage of its close proximity to the University and the College of Further Education. Many of the school departments have well-developed links with the University and College, some of our courses are run in conjunction with the College of Further Education and we work closely together in the development and teaching of courses. In addition, the University has some of the best recreational, sporting and social facilities in the country, which our students may use.
