Boarding at Field House
We provide superb boarding accommodation for girls and boys age 11 to 19. Our youngest children attend Garendon High School in year 7 until the age of 14 when they transfer to Burleigh Community College, which is adjacent. At Burleigh they study for their GCSEs and A Levels as well as numerous vocational qualifications. Educational, sporting and extra-curricular facilities and opportunities are excellent at the College.
Field House
Our students board at Field House, a Grade II listed building which was originally a Georgian farmhouse. The building was purchased by Leicestershire Education Authority and has been considerably extended and altered. It is a splendid property, has a number of original features and stands in delightful grounds. It is within walking distance of Burleigh, adjacent to the University and about half a mile from the town centre.
Boarding at Burleigh is modelled on the responsible family. Through high standards of care in a friendly yet structured environment, we commit ourselves whole-heartedly to the welfare of the young people in our care. Boarders develop a high degree of self confidence and independence and learn to co-operate with and respect others. We guarantee to create a warm and caring space for your child and in partnership with yourselves and the school, to provide the environment and the support which he or she needs to flourish. In return we expect from our boarders a commitment to their studies and to the boarding house and we demand high standards of discipline, courtesy and participation. Boarders often excel, and are frequently noted for their maturity, their application and their self-reliance.
Our aim is to provide a friendly and caring home for our boarders and one which encourages participation at both college and home.
